Lets face it, even though we are all in this business because we love to design and would do nothing other than play in Photoshop all day if we didn’t have to, The truth is we have chosen this profession to make a living and not just make cool collages.
The Fee Schedule :
In my 15 years of owning and consulting for wrap providers across the country I have both been teacher and student to some lessons that are unique to this field. The biggest of which is human psychology. Over and over again, well at least until I figured it out my clients would drag me out for design time like it was some sort of vacation from their real life. They would spend hours upon hours sitting with, eating with and trying to steal my designers away. Just ask Stephen from Seven Sin Design. I had to give that kid a raise every other client! It was interesting to me that the same principle played out over and over again. If I did not charge for design time the customers would not appreciate it.
